Probabilistic forecasts take the form of probability distributions over the set of possible outcomes.
When the outcome is real-valued (\(Y \in \mathbb{R}\)), probabilistic forecasts often come in the
form of parametric distributions. The scoringrules package provides the functionality to calculate
the CRPS and Log score for a range of parametric distributions. In this document, we list the
distributions that are available, along with their probability density/mass function (pdf/pmf),
cumulative distribution function (cdf), and an analytical formula for their CRPS. The Log score
is simply the negative logarithm of the pdf/pmf, when this exists. The analytical
formulae for the CRPS are all taken from Appendix A of the scoringRules R package (Jordan et al., 2017).
